Armed Robbery Suppression

New threats to commerce and industry have propelled the importance of a viable security plan and presence.

The Picore International philosophy of maximum security with minimum disruption has won converts from a growing circle of business and specialty retail clients who desire risk management that does not interfere with their daily operations.

We provide armed security for high-risk details requiring the presence of trained, response-ready uniformed agents in the retail and commercial arena.

Unarmed Security

"The major responsibility of an officer is prevention BEFORE an incident/offense occurs. Thus, a security guard should be HIGHLY VISIBLE. By being seen, the guard may discourage anyone who might be considering theft, damage or personal injury. A security officer’s job is PREVENTION." -Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS)

Security guards undergo a thorough background screening process, which includes a criminal history check, work history and reference checks before consideration for a position at a client's facility/property. As an option to the client, we also conduct drug/alcohol and psychological testing. We have qualified security officers and highly trained agents available on a short term or permanent basis.

Special Event Security

Special event management is a complex skill that few security companies--large or small--can execute properly. Picore International, however, has years of experience providing all levels of special event security for award shows, political conferences, concerts, festivals and executive board meetings. Disaster Deployment

Preparedness is defined by DHS/FEMA as "a continuous cycle of planning, organizing, training, equipping, exercising, evaluating, and taking corrective action in an effort to ensure effective coordination during incident response."

This cycle is one element of a broader National Preparedness System to prevent, respond to, and recover from natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other disasters.

Picore agents are always in ready mode and can respond within 12 to 24 hours with a team on the ground to protect and serve.

Some of our deployment details to ground zero are the following hurricanes:

  • Katrina, New Orleans
  • Sandy, New York
  • Harvey, Houston
  • Irma, Florida Maria, Puerto Rico
As well as other catastrophic events.

Loss Prevention Strategies

The objective: maximize profits through reducing theft/ shrinkage.

On an average, most retailers experience shrinkage of less than 2% but some smaller retailers often experience monthly and annual shrinkage percentages as staggering as 20%.

General Investigation and Surveillance

Our credentialed private investigators are professional in conducting business and complex investigations. They are skilled in interviewing and interrogation, to screen the suspects and protect the innocent. We aim to maintain a high sense of esprit de corps while we divert employee attention away from management during our investigation. We implement our ideas quickly to obtain accurate results with the least amount of disruption to a company's mode of business.

What is Surveillance? Surveillance consists of one or two undercover operatives who follow the activity of the targeted subject. A recent photograph and physical description is given to the operative and it is his job to follow and document the activities and whereabouts of the subject to gain essential information for an investigation. Importantly note that it is legal to conduct surveillance as long as there is a legitimate purpose for doing so, and it is conducted by a qualified private investigator.

Threat Assessment and Management

A "Threat Assessment" is a determination of the propensity for violence of an individual. This is a unique pro-active approach which manages the case and helps to contain the escalation of possible dangerousness. Dr. Picore uses assessment data, current documentation, and monitors techniques of inappropriate behavior while she determines the level of risk and vulnerability factors. The profile includes the collection of criminal filings, field and computer record searches. This search may consist of background information such as address history, bankruptcy, liens, and judgments as well as other available information. Specific recommendations are included to guide management in the handling of the individual, as well as providing safety precautions.

The conclusion of the report will consist of giving the degree of dangerousness of the individual to self and others. This will take the form of a grading scale of low, medium, or high risk for violence. Please refer to OSHA's guidelines that address the importance of implementing a threat management policy for your company. This policy should establish the protocol for handling the potential of workplace violence incidents.

Risk Analysis/Security Survey

Security & risk assessments are conducted to survey your facility, identify issues and pinpoint weak links that create vulnerability. Once the initial physical survey is complete, our consultants will recommend alternatives to increase your facilities security and safety rating. A written report will be completed with all recommendations.

Restraining Order

What is a restraining order? In legal term, it is an order from a court directing one person not to do something. Restraining orders are typically issued in cases in which abuse or stalking is a primary issue, in an attempt to ensure the victim's safety.

Are you having a difficult time getting a restraining order for your client because the judge feels that there is not sufficient evidence to warrant one? A threat assessment, documenting the danger involved could help finalize the need for a restraining order.

Fitness-for-Duty

The Picore "Fitness-for-Duty" evaluation will consist of a licensed clinician conducting clinical psychometric testing and a face-to-face interview with the individual. This specific kind of evaluation is conducted for individuals placed on administrative leave, or is being considered for administrative leave. Management will order this evaluation when they are trying to determine if the individual should be allowed to return to work or keep his/her current position, due to varying reasons.

There is a crossover between fitness-for-duty and a threat assessment; however, they are very different in nature. A threat assessment specifically evaluates the propensity towards violence. A fitness-for-duty evaluates the degree to which the individual can maintain employment and continue to be a productive employee. Some organizations have an Employee Assistance Program with an in-house clinician; however, the threat assessment component is crucial and elicits a special knowledge of determining the risk that an individual may pose. If this component is sidestepped, the safety, productivity, and legal liability of a company may be at stake.

Critical Incident Debriefing

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing is a process that prevents or limits the development of post-traumatic stress in people exposed to critical incidents. Professionally conducted debriefings help people cope with, and recover from an incident's aftereffects. CISD enables participants to understand that they are not alone in their reactions to a distressing event, and provides them with an opportunity to discuss their thoughts and feelings in a controlled, safe environment.

A "critical incident" is any event that causes an unusually intense stress reaction. The distress people experience after a critical incident limits their ability to cope, impairs their ability to adjust, and negatively impacts the work environment. Traumatic events that produce such reactions include: suicide, workplace fatality or serious illness, suicide, a violent or threatening incident in the work setting, or a natural or manmade disaster that affects the workers’ ability to function in the workplace.
